Safer DC partners with ONSE and community members across Ward 2 and Ward 5 to help prevent violence, strengthen neighborhood connections, and create safer spaces for everyone.
Through collaboration, outreach, prevention programs, and community support, we work to ensure that residents feel heard, valued, and empowered to help shape a safer Washington, DC.

Safer DC is working with residents and community members to engage in conversations about public safety, gun violence in our community, and the issues affecting people across the District.

There are many ways to participate with A Safer DC.
Whether you're new to our organization or already involved, there's a way to participate.

Safer DC brings residents, community leaders, organizations, and local partners together to address the causes and impact of violence. Our work focuses on prevention, positive engagement, neighborhood connections, and creating opportunities for young people and families.
Together with ONSE, we support efforts that promote safety, trust, accountability, and hope throughout Ward 2 and Ward 5.
A Safer D.C
A safer Ward 2 means investing in proactive, community-based solutions: stronger relationships with community members and public safety entities, improved environmental safety, and targeted outreach for vulnerable individuals near our transit centers and commercial corridors. Whether you are walking home at night, running a neighborhood business, or raising a family here, you deserve to feel secure in every corner of our ward.
Building a safer Ward 5 requires a comprehensive approach that addresses public safety from every angle. It means ensuring timely emergency response, modernizing traffic safety along major arterial corridors, it also requires investing in root-cause solutions: expanding violence-interruption programs, creating constructive opportunities and safe spaces for our youth, and bolstering mental health resources.

“Together, we can replace fear with opportunity, connection, and hope.”
