Building Safer, Stronger Communities Together

Safer DC is a community-focused organization dedicated to helping prevent violence and promote safer neighborhoods in Washington, DC. In partnership with ONSE, we work with residents, families, youth, community organizations, and local leaders in Ward 2 and Ward 5.

Our approach is rooted in collaboration. We believe lasting safety is created when communities have access to support, meaningful opportunities, trusted relationships, and the resources needed to thrive.

We listen to the concerns of residents and work alongside community partners to identify practical ways to promote peace and prevent violence. Our efforts may include community outreach, neighborhood engagement, youth support, prevention activities, resource connections, and partnerships that strengthen the social fabric of our neighborhoods.

We are committed to meeting people where they are, treating every person with dignity, and supporting solutions that reflect the needs and strengths of the community.
